Copy GM BCM 13589056 Using OBDSTAR DC706 Tool

This guide demonstrates how to clone a Vauxhall/Opel GM BCM (Body Control Module) with part number 13589056 using OBDSTAR DC706, including immobilizer data transfer and PIN code extraction. This process is essential when replacing a faulty BCM while retaining original vehicle security data.

Tools Required

OBDSTAR DC706 Clone GM BCM 13589056

Step 1: Prepare the BCMs

Identify Modules:

  • Locate the original (donor) BCM and the new replacement BCM (ensure part numbers match).
  • Verify both are Continental-branded modules (common for GM/Opel).

Pinout Setup:

Select GM BCM Continental 70F3469 +95160 option.

  • Refer to the wiring diagram for correct connections:
  • Pin 1: Ground (GND)
  • Pins 4 & 5: 12V Power
  • Pins 23 & 24: CAN Low/ CAN High

Step 2: Read Data from the Original BCM

Power Up:

  • Connect the original BCM to the OBDStar DC706 tool using the wiring harness.
  • Apply 12V power to Pins 4/5 and ground to Pin 1.

Extract Data:

  • Open the OBDStar software, navigate to GM > Body Control.
  • Select "Read EEPROM" and save eeprom data.
  • Select "Read Flash" to back up the flash data.
  • Retrieve the PIN code (e.g., 0427 in this case) and note it down.

Step 3: Write Data to the New BCM

Switch Modules:

  • Disconnect the original BCM and connect the new BCM using the same wiring.

Transfer Data:

  • In OBDStar, select "Write EEPROM" and load the saved backup file.
  • Select "Write Flash" to transfer the firmware.
  • Note: Skip backup for brand-new modules (no existing data to preserve).

Step 4: Final Checks

  • Disconnect all wiring and power.
  • Test the cloned BCM in the vehicle:
  • Ensure the immobilizer recognizes the keys.
  • Check for fault codes (clear if necessary).

Done.

AutoTuner Update Adds BMW EDC17C06/ C41/ C50/ CP45

New AutoTuner Protocol Update!

We continue to perfect our OBD protocols, this time for Alpina, BMW, and Mini vehicles equipped with Bosch EDC17C06, EDC17C41, EDC17C50, EDC17CP02, EDC17CP09, and EDC17CP45 ECUs, exclusively for E-Series.

This protocol update introduces our automatic patch detection, drastically reducing the writing time once the ECU has been patched: from around 6 minutes down to just 1 minute!

We have also added a Back to Stock function, allowing you to restore the vehicle to its original state in just one click, using the original data retrieved directly from our server. This function provides additional autonomy for "Slave" users.

Key Features of This Release:
Type: Engine Contol Unit (ECU).
Readout: OBD VR.
MCU: TC1766, TC1796, TC1797.
Write time with unlocking: 6min.
Write time once unlocked: 1min.
Supports Checksum correction.
