Alientech KESS3 released a new OBD protocol for Bosch MD1CS001 locked ECUs with KESS3 and Powergate.
The Bosch MD1CS001 ECUs fitted to recent BMW and Mini diesel applications with 1.5L and 2.0L B37 and B47 engines can now be read and written directly via OBD after the initial BENCH unlock with the dedicated KESS3 protocol. This is the first of several releases for these ECUs.
With KESS3, you can now read and write via OBD the MD1CS001 "Locked" ECUs fitted to 1.5L and 2.0L diesel engines from the B37 and B47 families.
The new OBD protocol therefore integrates with the BENCH mode already available: first unlock the Bosch MD1CS001 "Locked", then read and write from the diagnostic port with KESS3 and Powergate.
This release is the first in a series of developments dedicated to these ECUs.
The new protocol is available to KESS3 users with CAR OBD + BENCH/BOOT activation and an active subscription.
Powergate users can access the protocol after unlocking with KESS3, provided that the relevant Powergate Manager has CAR BENCH/BOOT activation.

With the new Magic Motorsport Flex update, Korhex enables unlocking of DAF Delphi ETC3 UDS control units in Boot Glitch mode, directly inside your workshop and in complete autonomy.
Flex Version 8.15.0.0 Out Now
Korhex leverages EMFI — Electromagnetic Fault Injection technology to act on the processor and allow the Boot Glitch procedure to be performed.
The dedicated accessories included in the kit ensure a simple, stable, and precise connection.
There is no longer any need to use the RFT service and send the control unit to our laboratories: with Flex and Korhex, you can unlock the Delphi ETC3 UDS and continue immediately with programming.
A procedure designed to reduce intervention times, simplify operations, and increase workshop autonomy.
Order Korhex, connect it to Flex, and manage the unlocking procedure in complete autonomy.
In order to access this protocol, you need either the FLS0.20 license or the Flex Full FLS0.5 configuration.

Here is a user’s experience with Autotuner reading after a boot glitch unlocked by Flex.
"I tried to test an Autotuner reading after a boot glitch with Flex MD1CS003
+2021
0281 037 200
It works perfectly.
I had already tried before, it didn’t work but I understood
why.
If you unlock with Flex + a file mod, AT no longer recognizes
it.
But on this calculator I simply unlocked with flex, and
did a read test with Autotuner to test and it was read.
What you can
deduce,
Autotuner can read if your file is original (just
unlocked).
But if you unlock + file mod, AT will just ID but no
read, it will try to read with
